Scope and Contents This collection includes three fire insurance atlases for the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, compiled by surveyor-architect John F. Braun and engraved and printed by H.N. Wehrmann of New Orleans. One atlas, dated 1877, covers the third district of the city. The other two, dated 1874 and 1877, cover the fourth district. Scope and Contents This collection includes seven fire insurance atlases that cover the 1st through 6th districts of New Orleans, Louisiana. One undated volume of the 6th district has the name of civil engineer J.A. Celles. Another volume, dated 1873, has the name of New Orleans surveyor Auguste B. Langermann. Scope and Contents This collection includes one fire insurance atlas for the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, which covers the entire city at the time of 1883 and illustrates blocks with buildings of individual properties. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps Collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes several fire insurance maps made by the Sanborn Map Company. 46 volumes of the maps are for New Orleans and cover 1876–1940s (updated through the 1960s). The two volumes for 1876 are the earliest Sanborns for New Orleans, and the only known copies. There are also 24 volumes for other cities in Louisiana and 14 volumes for cities in Mississippi.
