The collection consists of pamphlets, circulars, and reports relating to the public career of Paul Octave Hebert. Hebert was the fourteenth governor of Louisiana from 1853 to 1856 and a general in the Confederate Army. There are several documents that relate to the Mississippi River and describe flooding, levees, and improving the mouth of the river.
