Scope and Contents This collection consists of approximately 800 black and white photographs created by Carl Van Vechten. Most of these are prints in post card format, with handwritten captions and notes by the photographer, and many of the post cards were sent through the mail to Sandy Campbell in New York City. This collection consists of photographs of the McFadden House in New Orleans, photographed by Charles L. Franck, and collected by gardener K. W. Pedersen. This collection consists of photographs of southeastern Louisiana collected by Olga F. Hartmann of New Orleans. Although many of the photographs are uncaptioned, two are signed by her father, John Ferdinand Hartmann; presumably most or all of them were created by him. Subjects of the photographs are New Orleans flooding in the aftermath of the late Sept.1915 hurricane, numerous other scenes of storm destruction, Audubon Park, winter landscapes, and New Orleans Carnival.
