Scope and Contents This collection consists of organizational records and collected items of the Hebrew Rest Cemetery Association, Inc., in New Orleans, La. Included are legal papers, financial documents, reports, notes, photographs of graves and monuments, records of interments, minutes, agendas, notices of meetings, employment records, and historical information. Original documents date back to 1860; photocopies and carbons are included.
Scope and Contents This collection consists of personal and professional papers of Rabbi Roy A. Rosenberg. Included are handwritten and typed correspondence and outgoing carbons, rabbinical papers, handwritten notes, lecture notes for the 1967 Judah Touro memorial lecture, text of Rabbi Rosenberg's farewell sermon, financial documents, newsletters, newspaper clippings and other printed items. Topics of correspondence include social work of Temple Sinai and Jewish cemeteries., and internal matters.
Scope and Contents Minutes, office files, marriage, death, and interment records, and other records documenting Touro Synagogue and its two preceding congregations, Gates of Mercy and Dispersed of Judah. Particularly noteworthy are volumes documenting Gates of Mercy from 1866 and continuing as Touro Synagogue through 1944, and minutes from 1853 -1947.
