Herron family papers

Scope and Contents In this collection, there are eight letters dated 1861-1862 from Nicholas Herron to Anne McCarthy, New Orleans, describing camp life with the Confederate Army at Camp Moore, Fairfax, Virginia, Camp Carondelet, and other sites. The remainder of the correspondence consists chiefly of letters to Stella Herron from "M.W.", "Cousin Sue", and "Bella" about family affairs. There are also sketches and postcards in the collection.
