Scope and Contents

1888-1919.  51 individual broadsides.  Sixteen of these engravings bear the signature of Mexican satirical artist José Guadalupe Posada (1852-1913).  The collection is sorted by thematic categories which include:  Games & Lotteries; Religion & Miracles; Disasters; Social Life & Customs; National Events; and Calaveras.  Most of the pieces date between 1898-1906.
