The collection consists primarily of poetry volumes by Reverend Joseph Forster Hogben, an Episcopal priest who worked among the Native Americans and was also an Army chaplain. He won many distinguished awards for his poetry. There are also holy cards as well as book marks in the collection.

Biographical / Historical

Joseph Forster Hogben (1909- ) was an Episcopal priest who worked among the Native Americans and was also an Army chaplain. He won many distinguished awards for his poetry. Some of the volumes of poetry he wrote include Poem paintings, Saint Chappelle and other poems, Songs for Susan, and A Christian's Year.
