Scope and Contents

This collection consists of land transactions, land surveys, receipts, tax receipts, correspondence, legal documents, financial papers, land titles, maps,  medical treatments, and photographs. The collection primarily concerns the land transactions and legal matters of the Collins, Littell, and Cadish families near Opelousas, Louisiana. Irving Novick was the notary public involved in the adoption papers of William T. Cadish as well as Rosalie Jean Marie's sale of land to Cadish.

Biographical / Historical

Irving Novick was a notary public involved in the adoption of the son of William Cadish, Sr., William T. Cadish, by his widow, Rosalie J. Marie Cadish. He was also later involved in the sale of property by Rosalie Cadish to William T. Cadish. He is possibly the collector of Manuscripts Collection 1048.
