Harry W. Baird Drawings Collection

Identifier: SEAA-088

Scope and Contents

This collection of drawings, by Henry W. Baird (d.1959) of New Orleans, includes designs for interior decoration and furniture, both domestic and commercial, which were executed in pencil, ink, and watercolor. Baird moved to New Orleans in 1919 from the mid-western United States. The drawings were supposedly done during an apprenticeship or study in Chicago, since Baird is not known to have practiced interior decoration in New Orleans. Drawings were bound in a sketchbook and unbound after being given to Tulane.
