Biographical / Historical
Antonio Guelle, born in Costa Rica in 1882, studied mechanical engineering at Louisiana State University, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1905, master's degree in 1906, and masters of engineering degree in 1907. He held further research and instructional positions in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Massachusetts. He worked with Louisiana sugar planters to improve efficiency, taught at Louisiana State University, held positions supervising and consulting at a factory in Santa Lucia, Cuba, and worked in construction engineering in New Orleans.
