Scope and Contents
To obtain a mortgage from Bank de l'Association Consolidée des Cultivateurs de la Louisiana, Abraham Arsenaux offers for collateral a peice of land on the Mississippi River in St. James Parish next to land owned by Jeanne Baptiste Chaisson and 34 slaves. The document contains a title abstract of the land and lists the slaves belonging to him and those belonging to his wife, Carmélite Conille (widow of François Huget).
