The collection is made up of manuscript copies of parts of Louis Placide Canonge's plays Un Grand D'Espagne and Le Comte de Carmagnola, a letter, "Rigoletto" or "Le Bouffon du Prince" translated from Italian into French, and an inventory of Canonge's library by George William Nott. All materials in the collection are written in French. The letter praises Canonge's article in the Bee about St. Bernard Parish.
