Andrew Souby History of the Catholic Church in Morgan City

This collection contains a typescript of a history of Sacred Heart Church in Morgan City, Louisiana. The history mainly covers the years 1898 to 1935 and mainly concerns church buildings, episcopal visits, and pastors. Attached to the history are a biographical sketch of Father Souby and notes on the church at Bayou Boeuf. It lists some early members of the church.

Anne MacKinne Robertson bookplates

The collection consists of personal bookplates designed by Anne MacKinne Robertson for various people. There are design drawings of some bookplates. In addition, there is a calendar designed and published by Robertson entitled "A Calendar of New Orleans: Her Romances and Progress" to commemorate the New Orleans bicentennial, 1718-1918 (published in 1917). The title page of the calendar has a poem on it by Charlotte Prentiss Harden.

Antonio Quiroga paper

Document signed by General Antonio Quiroga certifying that Richard Raynal Keene, Colonel of the Spanish Army,rendered valuable service to the cause of libery in 1820, was imprisoned in a dungeon in Madrid, and suffered a loss of 19,500 "pesos fuertes." Because of his actions of July 7, 1822, he was declared "benemerito de la Patria."

The collection consists of correspondence, certificates, clippings, photographs, pamphlets, bills, minutes, and other materials that relate to Arthur A. Crais' career in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1960 to 1972. Crais was particularly involved with Delgado Trade School, higher education, flood control, pharmacy workers, and political reapportionment.
