This collection contains a copy, made 1865 September 20, of a document granting permission to A. Barg, by Charles Smith, collector of the First District, State of Louisiana, to carry on the business of a claims agent, located at 33 Exchange Alley, New Orleans.

A. K. Seago & Co. telegraphic code book
This collection contains a "Telegraphic Cypher Code" designed to be used in communication with A. > Seago & Co., who were brokers and commission merchants for sugar, molasses, and rice in New Orleans. Also included is a telegram using the code, dated 1893.

This collection contains a letter from A. S. Norton, aboard the steamboat Echo on the Ohio River, in which he relates to J. G. Sweringen of St. Louis the efforts ot track down a Mr. Hendricks. The letter describes river travel and financial arrangements of trading boats.

The collection is made up of A.B. Paterson's photographs, newspaper clippings, memorial material, a photograph album, awards, and scrapbooks. Paterson was one of the founders of the International House, a member of Young Men's Business Club of New Orleans, and active with the New Orleans Area Council Boy Scouts of America, Louisiana State Board of Industry and Commerce, and New Orleans Aviation Board.
Abbe Eugene Fraering composition
This collection contains two manuscripts compositions be Abbe Fraering: "Vide Thoma," dedicated to the choir of St. Thomas Church, Paionte a la Hache, Plaquemines Parish, LA; and "Regina Coeli," dedicated to A. B. Langlois, pastor of St. Thomas Church. The documents are bound in linen with gold stamping by Francis Stanislas Caro.

Abraham Arsenaux mortgage document
To obtain a mortgage from Bank de l'Association Consolidée des Cultivateurs de la Louisiana, Abraham Arsenaux offers for collateral a peice of land on the Mississippi River in St. James Parish next to land owned by Jeanne Baptiste Chaisson and 34 slaves. The document contains a title abstract of the land and lists the slaves belonging to him and those belonging to his wife, Carmélite Conille (widow of François Huget).

Abram Joseph Ryan Scrapbook
Scrapbook made for the UDC Louisiana Division about the preparation and erection of the monument to the Confederate poet-priest, Rev. Abram Joseph Ryan, a Vincentian. Contains poems, programs, reports, letters, addresses, comic book, news clips, pictures, photos, Confederate currency and blue print.

Accomack County land causes and wills
The collection is made up of mimeographed volumes abstracting land causes and wills from Accomack County, Virginia. The volumes were compiled by Stratton Nottingham and published in 1931. Nottingham was a Virginia genealogist who specialized in the Eastern Shore section of Virginia.

An account book in German of a steamboat traveling on the Ohio River and Mississippi between St. Louis and Cincinatti with account of sales, purchases, wages fares and receipts.
Acklen family papers
The collection consists chiefly of copies of documents and letters from the Louisiana Land Office, covering the granting, surveying, seeling, mortgaging, and other topics, of land in West Feliciana Parish, Greensburg district, and around the Lake of the Cross. The documents pertain to tracts of land purchased by Joseph A.S. Acklen in the 1850s and trace the history of the various titles. There are also maps showing property and personal letters.
