Scope and Contents These two letters are thought to have been sent to Charles Edgar Appleby (1824-1913). Known as Edgar to his family, he was a real estate investor during the last half of the nineteenth century. The donor believes that the author of the letters may be John Appleby (1822-?), Charles Edgar Appleby's brother.
