  • Scope and Contents

    The collection consists of the records of the National Council of Jewish Women, New Orleans section, that document the local children's television shows "Magic Tree" and "Let's Tell a Story." A collaborative effort between the National Council of Jewish Women, WDSU-TV, the New Orleans Public Library, and New Orleans public and parochial schools, these programs encouraged reading and literacy as well as the use of the public library amongst New Orleans-area children. The collection contains scripts, correspondence, annual reports, program data sheets, press releases, production lists, clippings, photographs, and bulletins.

    The collection is arranged by topic, then chronologically, as follows: correspondence, annual reports, other papers related to the production of the programs, "Magic Tree" scripts, and "Let's Tell a Story" scripts. The collection consists of eight boxes.
